This is bad. Many people invest in gun companies through stocks unknowingly. This will take renenue away from them.
This could also lead to people like Walmart or dicks dropping guns from there shelves. I know I know they are not progun, but think of this that inner city kid that never sees guns anywhere walks by one on the shelf at dicks or Walmart and it grabs his attention. Could make it where some people in big cities never see a gun in real life.

I could also see people like Cuomo and Brown moving all state pensions there and give this more power.

This may not have that much impact. The articles seem to reference mostly retail stuff - funds you and I can buy thru fidelity, etc. most public pensions and institutional investors have specific compliance rules set up with their managers, and many of them already include restrictions on the “sin stocks” - anything alcohol, tobacco, and firearms related.

Looks purely like a marketing ploy from black rock to get the business of those already hating guns

The way I see it they are not going to stop investing in gun manufacturers and retailers. They are just giving snowflakes an option to opt out of investing in these companies.

I agree, but it takes money out of those companies and retailers pockets. Of course that all depends on how many opt for this.
