Moving from NYC -> Suffolk, pistol permit transfer?

Debating a permanent move out to Suffolk County and wondering what will happen to my pistol permit. Has anybody had any luck transferring over a premises permit from NYC to Suffolk recently? My understanding as per PL 400 and what I've read online is that I write the NYPD police commissioner a letter telling them about my address change to transfer my records and once they're transferred Suffolk should issue me one of their permits accordingly. Can anyone provide any clarity into this process?

Long island issues a Sportsman license. You will lose your NYPD permit when you permanently move out of NYC.
As you know you are required to notify NYPD when your address changes.
If you decide Suffolk will be your permanent address. Contact SCPD PLB and notify them that you want your file from NYPD to be transferred to SCPD PLB.
Notify NYPD of the change of address and request your file to been transferred to SCPD PLB.
