My first Ganzo Firebird. Green G10, Axis Lock.

I know its Chinese, but I just had to buy something after the latest ZT 0450..(see thread below)..These knives have been gaining a lot of ground in the knife world and offer a great product. True Axis lock, G10 scales, milled out subframe, nice clip & razor sharp, perfectly centered blade. All this for $21.85 shipped to my door.
Knife is Shown with my old Benchmade 943 for size comparison. Enjoy..

Definitely has a great shape and overall look to it. I’d like to see if lasts as long as the Benchmade.

Blades 3.5" exactly, and OAL is 8.25. Time will tell on the Axis lock, but it feels every bit as solid as the Benchmade. Also it has two Omega springs, one on each side, same as the BM. I will say I'm a bit underwhelmed at the Benchmade's S30V steel everyone raves about. I confess I'm hard on my knives, but I always felt like I was having to touch up the Benchmade blade. Hell, look at the picture above. That BM blade had half-serrations when new. Damned if I didnt sharpen them right off, with all the "touch ups"... Also its the knife's second or third factory blade..The Ganzo is 440C which has a pretty high carbon content from what I read. Guess we'll see.

Yeah, 440c is a high carbon content 400 series stainless steel, typically used for bearing steel. I have a couple of hand forged knives made of bearing steel and they are among some of my favorite knives.

I beleive they all come with the blue hardware if you choose the green option. If you visit Ebay, type in Ganzo 753. A bunch of options are there.
I'm looking hard at the Ganzo 729. It's the Spyderco Para 2, but with the Axis lock. Another knife with great reviews.

I looked on amazon and they are green, but not with blue hardware. $17.00 on amazon.

Based on this thread I picked up 2, orange for me so I can find it when I put it down and green for my son. Shown with his Benchmade 940. He’s the knife guy.

Sent in my beat up Benchmade 943 for its 3rd blade. Been at least a week and haven't heard from them. Nice 940 there, Calc...I requested a satin, non-serrated blade this time, as it seems the serrations are the first things to go. Also asked them if there's a better steel available than the S30V. Shouldn't go through blades that fast.
Will post when I hear back. Good luck with the Ganzo's. With the Benchmade gone, Im carrying a Ganzo copy of the Oregon Rat 1. Just love that Axis lock.

I asked them for a new clip for my knife 2 months ago and have heard nothing back. I even bitched at them on twitter and heard nothing. FUBM. I’m done with them.
