Need deer-grade 223 in Rochester. Can't find any!

Let's see if we can not have this thread turn into a "is 223 okay for deer". But let's just say that it is. And let's say some people online recommended stuff like Barnes TSX or Nosler Partition.

Now let's say that in all the stores I've gone to locally they only seem to carry truly endless supplies of 55 gr FMJ and occasionally varmint and occasionally target grade 223.

Anybody know where I can get some of the other stuff? And as we know stores like midway seem to not want to ship to NY now (midway has barnes in stock). Field & Stream carries barnes triple shock but not in 223.

If you reload I have some bullets I could part with to help you out. 62gr Winchester PowerPoint. I think they use these in loaded ammo also if you can find it.

In Beikirchs (East Rochester) you have both Nosler and Barnes bullets.
If they do not have the 60gr partition they will have a 62gr TTSX. Both good white tail bullets. Pump them up.
Winchester 64gr PP also a great white tail bullet.

I used 223 on Deer few years ago. 175yrd. shots. I had REM 72gr. rounds I got from Gunner57. Your barrel would need correct twist though.

I ordered some Mag's from Midway, they took the order, I received an email saying they would not fill the Mag's part along with a customer service number. I called and they filled the order. No explanation.

I use the Winchester SP. I believe they are 64gn though, rather than 62. Haven't taken a deer with them yet. Maybe this year I will take the .223 out after opening day.

Go to Beikrichs in East Rochester. Anything that they don't have in stock they can most likely order for you. They're by far and away the best LGS in the Rochester area.

I just bought some 55 grain ammo specifically for dear this year. Barnes 55 vor tx. Tsx.

1) I don't reload
2) Bullet Guy has precisely what I'm looking for
3) I also stopped into Beikirch and they had four different 223 suitable for hunting medium sized game (not varmint rounds or FMJ), though none copper-only like the barnes if you need that. Much better options on that than the big box.

I plan on using 65 gr Sierra Game King for my .223 if I decide to use it. Glad you found what you needed.
