Hi everyone,

I've been lurking in the forum and the other one for awhile now. Active duty army, work at West Point. In process of getting my pistol permit so I can bring my collection up from VA. Also looking for somewhere to shoot, been going to this one range in Goshen that is a little overbearing with the rules. .. any suggestions for that or tips on getting permit in Orange County appreciated!

:welcome: I assume you're referring to Davis....Def too many rules and not the most comfortable environment. Where in Orange are you? There are a few private clubs, but there's a waiting list. Master Class in Monroe is good, they are an indoor 25 yard range and the guys there are real nice.

Yeah I've heard good things about Masterclass, wish it was longer than 25 yards. I'm in Cornwall.

Welcome! I'm in Hurley, but I've shot at masterclass a couple of times. Range is 25 yards and it's not too busy.

Have you checked out membership at Blackrock? It's in your backyard. Not sure if there's a waiting list (don't believe there is though).

I haven't met anyone that is a member there yet. I might just show up and ask for a tour when the weather gets nice.

Hey welcome I'm in Cornwall too. I'm member of Blackrock but been out of work and haven't paid dues yet otherwise I'd take you over to range. All the ranges were recently redone and are in good shape but all outdoors. Stop down at clubhouse (off rt 32) one night and see if anyone will show you range. Permit app can be downloaded I believe from orange county website. Good luck.
