Was a member here a few years ago, but haven’t been around for a bit. The site didnt recognize my email address(to retrieve my old username/password)...so I just signed up again.

Nope.

Generally we wouldn't allow a second account, but if you don't remember any details and we have no way to look it up I suppose we could overlook it this once. Your IP hasn't been associated with any other accounts either.

I'm not saying it's what happened here , but there have been a few instances where folks signed up here, similarly wondering why they couldn't reclaim their accounts, and it turned out their account wasn't actually made here but rather on the basically dead 'other' NY gun forum site that so many of us here came from.
