STS556
.223 Rem
I picked up a Tikka T3X in .223 a few weeks ago for a chassis build. I planned on using an XLR chassis but they have a 5 to 6 month wait time. It seems all the chassis makers have a long wait time right now. So I figured I would use an Oryx for now until XLR had much shorter wait times. I don't like traditional rifle stocks so I needed a chassis as soon as possible. The Oryx in black was out of stock everywhere but EuroOptic, where I bought everything pictured including the rifle, came through and found an Oryx in black even though they were out of stock on them.
To be honest, the Oryx feels like a much more expensive chassis even though it is an entry level chassis. The only things I need are some spacers for the buttstock for a longer length of pull and I need to go to to the high scope rings to get a comfortable cheek weld. Right now with the cheek piece in its lowest position, my head is at a 45 degree angle when looking through the scope. Its not very comfortable. Other than those issues, its a great chassis. I may keep it for longer than I thought, maybe until XLR has something different looking. I just need to decide weather I want a Harris or Atlas bipod.
