I just watched a video on facebook of the owner of The Firing Pin in Bergen NY.
He said today was the last day to buy a lower receiver in NY.

Senate Bill S9456 goes into affect tomorrow.

Did I miss threads on this forum where you guys were talking about it?

Here is a quote from TFP.

Due to Senate Bill S9456, as of July 6th, 2022 we will no longer be selling or transferring stripped/complete lower receivers, Mossberg Shockwaves, Remington TAC14s, and similar firearms. If you ship one of these to us for transfer after this date, you will be charged a transfer and shipping fee and your items will be sent back.
We are doing our best to keep up with these brutal laws. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we try to stay afloat through the onslaught of infringements from Hochul.

I've seen some say they're still good to go, and others not. Another fine mess.

I bought another one the day after the bills were drafted just in case.

I’m picking one up on a week or so from an FFL. It was there today but he didn’t have it logged into his books and I bought two other guns. He said it’s best to split it up since I have to pick up the pistols too.

After MUCH review and counsel from multiple different people inside and outside the industry, including NYSP, we admit that we were (luckily) WRONG about stripped lowers this week.
We would rather have to backpedal like this than be shut down for selling something we weren't supposed to. Shout-out to all of the people that called our bluff and helped us through the wording of the extremely and intentionally vague law that we accidentally over-interpreted. If you have a lower here, we will transfer it to you like normal, and we will be re-stocking our supply of stripped lower receivers!

Was at dds ranch today, and they're selling them. He's got a couple shockwaves left and said that's it for them.

Then there's the economy polymer kit that is a silicone mold you just mix and pour some epoxy into.

Ammo now needs to be out of reach of customers really? Wow this is a new one. What so we don’t steal it? This is getting stupid and will just cost more money.

Thats the one thats driving me out of business No way to distance customers from the ammo on the shelf.
Next up is the ammo background check and ammo tax

I hate when ammo is behind the counter. I have no idea what I'm looking for/at half the time and usually people are in a rush. I like to buy my ammo and reloading components without interruptions. I also like to do some comparative shopping.

Well, you'll either be limited to that or asking sales staff to open the locked cabinet some stores may utilize. NYS thinks thst gang bangers are stealing their ammo from retail stores.

No, NYS knows this has no legitimate purpose.

They also know it will be a pain in the ass. That is their entire purpose.

They might as well require everyone to wear giant clown shoes if they're handling firearms.
