Actually, it is the FFL holding it. The bastard sent me a teaser pic late yesterday. As of yet, I have not actually seen it. I think he is really enjoying rubbing it in that he has it, and I can't have it LOL

My friend who has filled out his permit paperwork, but hasn’t submitted it yet asked me the other day if w can go together to look at and hold a bunch of pistols. I said nope. He kind of looked at me funny and I said you can’t even touch them until you get your permit, but when you donid be happy to.

Same boat. Just wrapping up the references, which in the case of Wayne county now they need to fill out sheets and have them notarized. Will be submitting final application as early as today.

I am in Niagara County - been almost 3 months now I think. Probably will take 6 if I am lucky. I just could not pass up the deal I got, and if for some stupid reason I don't get approved the FFL can easily sell it for retail and I will make a few bucks.

Jump in the car and drive 90 miles South to Russell PA, Tall Tails sporting goods, Its right on the border.
They have lots and lots of pistols anyone can handle and fondle.......and nobody dies.......thats odd.
Also several gun shops in Warren PA. About 1.5 hours from Buffalo, right near Russell.
Its worth the tiny trip to touch before you buy.
Can't touch a friggin' handgun w/o a permit is beyond stupid. There are counties in NYS where you have to submit your 1st handgun info with your permit application (I believe my Son had to do that in Orange County!?). How the hell are you supposed to select, and pay for a handgun you can't even hold prior to that point? Not to mention the FFL has to hold the gun until you receive your permit. Nothing like just having a few hundred bucks tied up in something you can't even touch. That is UNLESS you find the right type of shop that will let you fondle them w/o a permit. They are out there, just have to locate them. There is at least 1 in WNY that I know of.

I just got home and my son got a package off the porch. Holy hell Alien Gear - you guys ROCK. Ordered Tuesday, delivered today. I got the Shape Shift Kit along with an extra Mag holder in .45 / 10 mm. I am a "bit " buzzed so I will go through it in the AM, but holy crap are there a lot of parts. Jesus - I am almost 50 and I am more excited than a fat kid with cake.

So my buddy stops by tonight, and he happens to be the FFL I am working with.... Dickhead brings me this and says "here ya go - you are all set". I was laughing, but still called him a douche bag.

I'm in Orange county and that has changed. You do not need to put a pistol on your permit to start anymore. The problem is if you don't, when you finally do get your permit, you have to wait an extra month the get what you pick out put on the permit. I'm currently in the process of getting my permit and the wait is killing me! I started the process in March but have no idea how long I will be waiting but when I finally get it I have an H&k VP9SK waiting for me.
Yea, that is a problem in some counties. Others you can get it added immediately, then go pick it up. It is good that Orange changed their policy of "pre-registering" a handgun.

I have heard you can get a new pistol added immediately in wayne on subsequent.

I think it's the same in Sullivan (it was 8 years ago I applied for my permit so my memory is hazy and it may have changed since then). I was able to add one of my dad's guns to my permit to get it started so I didn't have to go out and buy one just to get the whole application started.
