That price tho...too bad they don't sell just the lower. For that money you could probably build two different pistol carbines.
I thinknthe magwell interchangeability is very neat and clever. However its main utility is lost in free states. Why would would you run anything other than the 30+ round glock mags?

I'm confused about the Glock mag being the only choice. I was under the impression carbines, atleast AR platform, are more common in Colt pattern mags?
I was wondering about that too, though I've no idea what the availability of those Colt 32 rounders is like these days. But if they had an option for those I think thats what I would choose.
I think if you were a competitor and already had a bunch of 2011 or M&P mags then it makes sense but for starting from scratch or as a solo gun the Glock mags are cheap and reliable. And for a couple hundred more you can get the even nicer JP that has the captured spring and a lot of other enhancements.

I also thought about something. What if you fix the magazine to the magwell? How easy would it be to use the detachable magwell as a detachable magazine?

Oh. I get you now. In that case, all I could think of is if you want the magazine well to match your carry pistol which may be non Glock.

Personally, despite using a non glock I'd still run the glock magwell on this thing. And if there were a magwell for the Colt 32 rounders I'd probably opt for that.

Well the only reason I choose a Glock carbine is because it shares magazines with my Glock. That is one of the major reasons in me getting one. My battle belt is configured with Glock mag pouches and a kydex Glock holster. If things happen in a hurry, I have both that I can easily grab that share the same magazines.
I can see someone with a Colt pistol or M&P doing the same thing.

I use colt pattern mags in the ones I have with no issues. Colt brand mags are way overpriced, I use aftermarket brands or modified UZI mags but they won't hold the bolt open.
