I can measure this in Nano Give-a-shits. Was a faithful member for decades, till SAFE...(They had 1 job)....Sorry, my money is better spent elsewhere. Once they redeem themselves here (something...anything..). I might start up my membership again..

I'm a bit sketched out about the proposed amendment, but understand where they're coming from. There is a pretty good possibility of very bad things happening on the floor of the annual meeting, with only the members in attendance having a say. On ther other hand, there are parts in there that are definitely a power consolidation.
I think I'm either going to vote it down or leave it blank.

I am on the same page as 218bee as to not having much respect for the NRA. This amendment just re-enforces my feelings. In a time when the President is preaching giving government back to the people, the NRA should be following suit. Haven't we all had enough of the powers that be, ruling the powers that be?

To keep things in perspective, there was a bullcrap effort last year to recall a director and there's been talk of antis trying to join the NRA to try and negatively influence things.
It wouldn't seem so creepy and heavy handed if they would have split the amendment into seperate parts - changes in write-in, changes in floor proposals, etc.

I beg to differ. The NRA is a FEDERAL civil rights org. They spend the majority of their efforts thwarting anti legislation on the Federal level. You know, The proposed anti 2A Bills that affects everyone , not just individual states. Do I think that they could have or should have tried harder to help us here. Sure , who wouldn't. But just like we all were blind sided by the bullshit SAFE act in essence passed in the dead of night, so were they. In the end , it was up to us , the voters in NYS to do something about it and despite our best rallying efforts a great many still voted for cumhole or stayed home. So, shame on us.

Why isn't NRA screaming what i say .. all the same stuff we have to go through for our 2A RIGHTS to be applied to all the damn Amendments ..

Well, just like with politics, the powers to be are voted into office by the rank and file members. Some officials feel differently than others about our rights. There have been power struggles on and off in the NRA for the last 25 yrs. the Only way to get people in power that totally agree is to vote them in. Most voting members are complacent just as they are when voting (or not) for political officials. I am a life member of the NRA but ALL of my Extra money goes to the GOA for now. They are the rabid 2A dog in the fight and that is who we need in there. When the NRA decided to get back on That band wagon I will once again shift some PVF money their way.
