Is your issue that NSSF hires lobbiests in NY, or that they hired D'Amato's company?

They've spent in the neighborhood of $500,000 on lobbyists and have nothing to show for it because they're not addressing the problem. Al isn't going to help them.

Are you suggesting NSSF shouldn't be hiring lobbiests in New York?
Do you realize NSSF is a trade organization with the singular purpose of advocating for its members - including Kimber, Remington and other manufacturers, and many retailers? Hiring lobbiests is what the group does.

The reason we have gun control in the state is not because our legislators are ignorant (they are), but because legislators especially the NYC Democrats are only interested in those who participate in their elections which both NRA and NSSF refuse to do. Elected Dems have come right out and said that is the problem, not so much guns themselves. This is also the reason we don't have gas fracking in the state. Those advocates spend in excess of $20K/month on lobbyists and don't do a thing at election time so nobody cares about them. As for Park, they report no lobbying on bills for the first 4 months of the year. I got a call from one of the legislators prior to the first round of gun control bills passing and he hadn't heard from anyone at NSSF.
Dont forget @gunpoliticsny is probably an NRA plant or just an apologist and they dont like competition (since they survive on states like NY and gun control)

Except it has nothing to do with NRA.
Its a trade association spending a token amount in an unfriendly state where they're unlikely to see much of a return on their investment.
Unless you're a dues paying member of NSSF, who cares? Its a lot like non-NRA members bitching about how other people's dues are spent.
@kev74 so what you are saying is no one on here can be critical of how moms demand action or the Brady campaign spend their money unless they are members

We can bitch about anything we want. That's what we do. And we're good at it!
But unless you're helping carry the weight for whatever group - NSSF, NRA, Bradybunch, Mom's Demand Attention, etc. - the groups don't really care about your opinion in relation to how they conduct their business.
