ok at walmart .. big sign hanging from ceiling .. .. under 16 can't have a bb gun unless hunting or on a range with supervision ..

this law make no sense .. it starts off with bb guns and spring guns .. then knifes .. and then rifle , shotgun ammo blah blah .. then hunting license gets tossed in ..




Section 265.05Unlawful possession of weapons by persons under sixteen
Penal (PEN)

It shall be unlawful for any person under the age of sixteen to possess any air-gun, spring-gun or other instrument or weapon in which the propelling force is a spring or air, or any gun or any instrument or weapon in or upon which any loaded or blank cartridges may be used, or any loaded or blank cartridges or ammunition therefor, or any dangerous knife; provided that the possession of rifle or shotgun or ammunition therefor by the holder of a hunting license or permit issued pursuant to article eleven of the environmental conservation law and used in accordance with said law shall not be governed by this section.

A person who violates the provisions of this section shall be adjudged a juvenile delinquent.


for the orange .. so that says all nurf guns are not for kids under 16 .. there sold for ages 4 and up LOL ..

but also .. i see nothing about range with supervision .. in this law .. only to have a hunting license .. which 2 yr olds can technically have ( life time gift from mom and dad )

Another law which is widely ignored. Paintball markers are .68 caliber air guns. Kids as young as 8 play paintball.

The 'ignored' laws are some of the most dangerous kind in a way. The things that are 'allowed' imply things are legal behavior, until such time as the now unknown/un-implied laws are suddenly enforced when it suits 'them' to serve some more underhanded and unscrupulous purpose.
A way IN to otherwise law-abiding citizens (or those who think they are and TRY to be)

Nothing to do with the point you're making, I'm just not certain which is accurate. If accurate to current law also means people under 16 can't have a boxcutter/work-knife. Without needing to read it, the bill simply states that criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree shall now also prohibit possession of a boxcutter by a person under the age of sixteen; defines "boxcutter" to mean a knife consisting of a razor blade or sharp edged instrument attached to or contained within a plastic, wood or metal housing., and lays it out in the text of SS265.00, 265.01, 265.05 & 265.06
