Would it have to be a NY compliant one? Or could I get a NY naughty one?

If you're LEO or out of state then I don't see why not! Would have to speak with them though as obviously all NYS laws will need to be followed.

Perfect, they can send you a non-neutered one as part of our group buy. They can do this for $699 which is their dealer price. Dealers sell them for 15% more so there's your savings :D Should I put you on the list for one?

    Building a Compliant AK...

Barrels come to us threaded, we have to turn those off and then send the barrel out for 1200 degree nitriding.

    Bayo lugs are removed

    Spur Grip install

And now times that by X amount of rifles, it adds up. If we could offer these for less, we would. I'm sorry, but NY Laws make for more labor.

I'm not blaming you either but I still thinks its extreme. File the tabs off the bayo lug takes minutes. Instead of milling the threads off why not weld a cap/nut on like other AK's? Spur grip install vs regular grip install... no extra time.

That is the "dealer price" but also quoted price for the guy in PA stating that was the discounted price for him. Even at the quoted 15% markup, that's still only $804. That's still a roughly $200 difference.

I'm not trying to crap on anything but I'm not seeing the "deal" here. If we are really getting a "deal" at $999 then what would we be getting charged if not getting the "deal"???

I gave you a FUAC eh? God forbid I catch a break once in a blue moon!
Also FWIW, the spec on these rifles seems to be in line with the likes of Arsenal and that level of AK. Polish part kits are primo quality, better supposedly than the bulgy kits that Arsenal and others often use. 7150 nitrided barrel vs 7140. And this price is more in line with the solid but more basic models of the sort that DDI and century are building. I think it's a decent buy at that price.
Look at that freakin wood man! If that is representative of what we'd get then that is gorgeous furniture.

Sure c'mon over. Don't give a fuck bout Andy down here!

Also, they actually have a warranty on the core of the rifle. So if something cracks they'll replace it. Or if the sights are bad, they'll fix it; that's something Arsenal doesn't do. To me, good customer service is worth a little extra.

@Lee Armory, just a few little questions to satisfy my impossibly nitpicky nature:
the trigger pin retainer, do you use the wire or plate?
Also do you machine in the detent for the safety lever. It's surprising how many don't.

You can easily do that yourself and it doesn't have to be a channel. You can simply drill a light dimple in the path of where the safety travels. That's actually what I did with the ak in my profile pic.

I don't wanna have to do that. I'm all thumbs and if I were to try to free hand it with a drill I'd fuck it up. Then I'd have refinish the dimple. I don't have a drill press, nor do I want one, I live in a small apt that I only see 3 or 4 days a month. I want to spend that time shooting and not Bubba fucking my guns.

Niiice! That's going that little extra step. If they do that then I'm sure they machine the detent as well.

LOL. I hear ya but it's not what you're thinking it to be. It's not a highly sophisticated operation requiring a precision drill press with specialty tools. It's literally a hand drill with a bit the same diameter of safety's bump and drilling for about a second. Sometimes you have to do it if building on a virgin receiver. I'm just saying don't let something that trivial prevent you from buying. Especially if it's a good deal.

By "indent" maybe you mean the hole in the left side of the receiver, where the fire selector goes through? If so, the retaining plate has a hole which the safety selector goes through before going through the receiver, effectively using the safety lever as a means to lock the retaining plate in place.

I'm talking about the little slot or dimple machined into the reciever that just keeps the safety lever "snapped" in position. It's a little thing, but it absence drives me nuts! I am super anal when it comes to guns.

    All of our receivers are as follows;
    Lee Armory Enhanced Receiver
    – X, Y Full Auto Embossed Markings
    – Rails corrected to prevent Bolt Carrier Jump
    – CNC Drilled Trunnion Holes
    – CNC Drilled Scope Mount Holes
    – Selector notch for Semi Auto
    – Morrissey Variance, Properly Heat Treated Receiver.

We worked closely with Morrissey who makes the entire industries "production" receivers. Over the years not a soul mentioned to them about bolt carrier jump and a few other things. Our Sr. Builder reached out and corrected all of their issues and most recently you can see our work within a PSA receiver =). Small world.

A lot of companies have tried to make their own receivers and it was their demise. We believe in providing the best possible parts, build quality and customer service possible.

We do not use hand tools on the receivers, CNC drilled, CNC Marked, CNC cuts for Selectors.

    Hope this helps!
