no problem, why not cut the shit and go straight to $15, then, every company lay off 5 people. Lets see what happens when thousands of businesses close, like restaurants, deli's, car washes. Unemployment will hit 10% to 12%.

Maybe the government should stop getting involved with the pay rate? Safety, I get. But pay rate? Get the fuck out. That's none of their business.

My theory is they did it now because there are very few people making less than $15/hour now and that’s about to change with the recession. Funny thing is the government thinks everyone should make more money but my son has a college job at a state school and he is paid minimum wage. So the state should literally put their money where their mouth is. Funny how the government is exempt from much of their rules.

State dot and thruway authority still starting around $16. And most positions require a CDL when you can go most anywhere with a cdl and be around $25 or higher. State still pushing the old “but the benefits” line. Benefits don’t pay the bills.

They are looking at a lot of this. I work for the government and the unions are screaming about stuff like this. People are not working for the state anymore and we are really short on positions. We will see what happens in April when most of the state contracts are up.
