Open carry without retention not so good for this guy

This concealed vs. unconcealed bullshit and needing a license for one but not the other is so stupid. Why does it matter if a piece of fabric is between your eyes and my gun? If I turn my body away from someone, is it now concealed? How about if I am carrying groceries and they are blocking my gun? Is it concealed then? How about if I try on a new t shirt and it accidentally falls on the outside of my gun? Is it concealed even if it's just for a second?

What if I'm carrying groceries and they're blocking my gun and as I go to try on a new shirt, I turn away from someone as the shirt temporarily shrouds my gun? Is it concealed?

See how stupid this can get?

I open carry at times and I conceal at times. Most times, I am concealed. I am a fan of both. If allowed by law, I would walk around daily with an AR or shotgun.

There is a time and there is a place to OC and a time to CC. All times though, one must be vigilant and have situational awareness.

I would never carry openly on a subway or a crowded bus, granted, I never use Public Transportation, but you get the point. I would not walk around the Ghetto areas or the East Side of buffalo with a gun in the open carry position. In my town, I will OC regularly, very little chance of something like this happening. When I go to the area around my land, in the summer, my gun is open.

There is a time and place for everything.

I wouldn't carry my money in a clear wallet on my belt. Id rather not show my hand to anyone if i don't need to. Plus i think open carry is tacky. I would carry concealed but open should not be illegal.

If you are going to open carry do it right, at least a thumb break when you are in crowded areas. If I was going to OC in a crowded area, I would be using level 2 if not level 3 retention.

While I applaud anyone and everyone who is legally able to carry doing so, there needs to be some more thought involved. This is a People of Walmart moment for sure.

I believe open carry should be a right,(constitution) but My 2 cents it's not a good idea. I worked security and there were several instances of youngster's taking guns from security guards in the larger stores. A group of 4 to 6 would walk up to the guard...start jostleing him and when trying to get them away..one would grab the handgun and run. Followed by the others. No camera. I believe if a weapon is being taken without permission....deadly force should apply.

If you open carry, you understand the benefits to staying prepared at all times. But it’s important to make sure you’re following the proper guidelines. That’s why we put together a list of 4 Open Carry Must Do’s:
1. Be aware you are armed - Everyone else is
Keep in mind that when you carry a gun, you make it clear a gun is there in all situations while you are present. Ensure that your holster choice has some additional level of retention that you would need to defeat before the handgun can be removed from the holster.
2. Remember you are bringing a gun to every fight
But not every fight needs to be solved with a gun. Be vigilant, know your state's laws, and do your best to avoid, or deescelate any scenarios you find yourself in.
3. Be mindful that not everyone is comfortable with open carry
Some people get nervous when they see an armed person not in uniform. There’s nothing you can do about it, so just stay polite, be prepared, and don’t draw attention to yourself or your weapon.
4. Always be professional
Whenever you open carry, you’re representing every gun owner in America. That’s just the way it is. Don’t look for trouble, but also, don’t look like you’re looking for trouble. Be polite, dress well, and stay well-groomed, if for no other reason than to avoid being harassed by someone less open-minded about guns than you.
