lol Where to start? I know I need some range time with a professional watching/coaching me, because my life is crazy hectic right now that's not possible. What would be your recommendation for self training. I'm leery on the subject because I know a lot of bad habits and techniques can be set without the proper ground work in place.
Secondly I'm always interested on what other people at doing for drills. Timers? Steel? or anything else you feel is important.

Where are you located and as for time if you are close, to knock out a Technique class id need 2hours and that would be a solid start for foundation.
As for drills i use Baer solutions, mayhem syndicate, haley and few that i have designed as well. Any kind of DOT torture drill is good for keeping shots tight. I use a mixture of steel and paper, steel when i going for highly probable hit rates and paper when i going for pin point accuracy. I use a CED7000 shot timer, they are great tools if used correctly.
I'm damn near in the center of the state between Utica and Syracuse. I like your willingness to travel, hopefully next year I can arrange one at a club or at private land.

Would you range allow non members to participate in a training day?
I think so for $5 normally. I would have to get a solid yes if I get any interest. If not I have some land we could do something on easily.
Pretty much how it usually works, id need the name of the range so i can contact them and then add them to my insurance. Figure out how much it would cost for me to rent the range from them and then we would have the range for the day.

Yes we utilize Hanover fish and game club regularly for classes.
Greatand I'm headed out of here in three weeks for the winter . . .
no worries we will have our 2019 course schedule up pretty soon, we will have some classes in hanover again.
