I tried to buy some ammo from Buds and I get directed every time to buy their $30.00 per year membership. Do you have to join to buy things? I won’t join so not sure what that’s about.
If it's a "team buds" item yes you must join.I tried to buy some ammo from Buds and I get directed every time to buy their $30.00 per year membership. Do you have to join to buy things? I won’t join so not sure what that’s about.
I'm on there now looking for a .22 rifle. Something cheap. Just for messing around.
Nearly all ammo is a buds club thing right now. I’m just not playing that game. I just have some money to spend and looking for ammo that’s reasonably priced. My .45 self defense ammo is aging so I just thought why not.Never had an issue getting what I wanted there. Of course that was before everybody panicked and bought anything with a primer.
TS has Federal HST in .45 for $43/50 round box.Nearly all ammo is a buds club thing right now. I’m just not playing that game. I just have some money to spend and looking for ammo that’s reasonably priced. My .45 self defense ammo is aging so I just thought why not.
I just was TS USA hade some Winchester .223 FMJ for $0.45/round but that’s too steep for me. When it drops again I’ll buy $1,000 worth of 9mm and .223/.556. I’m not playing these games I have plenty for now.

How is that store? Worth making a drive from Buffalo? Any better than Cabela’s?I ordered online a rifle from Sportsmen’s Wearhouse. They had it shipped to their store. I picked it up. Did the FFL right in the Rochester store. No FFL fee. No shipping charge. Just tax.
Great deal. Same price as Bud’s.
I don’t know about Cabela’s but Sportsmen’s wearhouse seems fair. How is that store? Worth making a drive from Buffalo? Any better than Cabela’s?
For sportsmen’s your need to ship ammo to and FFL if I’m not mistaken. Their prices are sky high right now. Target sport USA seems to be the only ones not totally trying to screw us. I was federal FMJ .223 for $0.44/round the other day. Other places are charging that for steel cases red army shit!! I saw they had 99+ boxes and I checked back 5 minutes later and it was down to 1 box. It’s selling fast!!Good to know. They (Bud's) were my second go to ....
Has anybody purchased ammo from Cheaper Than Dirt? I used to find good deals on their website ... before I moved back .... ummm .... here.
Just checked because they have some 9mm in stock and they said in store purchases only. Good price too $13.99 for for federal 50 round box. I’d have bought all they have left.Just an FYI tidbit thrown in here- Runnings will allow online ammo purchases from NY, IF you choose ship to store.
Gander used to have the same (post- SAFE Act) policy.

I have bought several guns from Buds ..Was pleased with the price and service .... Would purchase from them again ....
Welcome to American capitalism.Just a fact about Buds. Buds sells at low prices because they buy from the same wholesalers a small gun shop get theirs only at a reduced price. They basically drop ship to a local shop and have no federal or state paperwork to do. Then when a person picks it up at a local shop many piss and moan about the transfer fee. People don't know how much time is involved doing paperwork for a "simple" transfer. It is much more than the time it takes to do a background check. When an LGS gets a firearm for transfer they must log it into their books, contact buyer, do the background check then log it back out of their books. In the case of a handgun there is also state paperwork that has to be done and sent to the state in a timely manner. Buds does nothing but the LGS takes all the grief and work when they charge for their time. To those who say that people will buy other items while picking up their firearm, that's a load of crap. They will hunt the internet and complain to the owner that they can get those items cheaper elsewhere. How do I know? I hear it daily. Many people appreciate what their LGS does for them but others have no problem bitching when all the shop owner is doing is trying to keep the doors open.
They can "keep their doors open" by selling guns and tiny boxes of ammo at 200% the price with someone running a charity.Just a fact about Buds. 200%? Where to you get that number from? Have you been to some of the cheap internet ammo places lately. Ammo prices are crazy high at the moment so the LGS has to pay higher prices too and still has to make a profit to pay the bills. Just for some peoples information, ammo and guns are not given to the LGS to sell and paid for after they sell their product. In fact the LGS owns everything in the store as they have to pay up front to stock the shelves. On another note, when something is wrong with the firearm you purchase at Buds, Walmart etc. do they do anything to help you rectify the situation? They can "keep their doors open" by selling guns and tiny boxes of ammo at 200% the price with someone running a charity.
Not me.
My LGS sells estate guns over the internet to obtain a higher price than selling it through his shop. Should I complain about the internet forcing me to pay a higher price for these guns because of the internet. ... NO... This is the way the world works these days. I can use the internet to get a lower price .... He is using it to get a higher price . This is the way the world works .. When Cuomo shut down the gun shops .. Firing Pin for example do you think they closed down the out of state internet sales ?... Record gun sales across the US.... Logic says they doubled down. using the internet200%? Most Local Gun Shops don't sell on the internet. Why? because you need staff to do the paperwork and do shipping. A small LGS are not in the position to staff full time people and in fact have a hard time keeping their shelves stocked. Cuomo's shutting down of the small LGS was done in the hope of most of them going out of business. When that happens who you gonna have stuff shipped to? For anyone think it's not hard to keep a small business going just try to find common things like .380, 9mm ammo, Remington 870 or a Mossberg 500. There is just none to be had and if you do find it it will not be cheap. My LGS sells estate guns over the internet to obtain a higher price than selling it through his shop.
