Hopefully all this nonsense goes away with the new administration.
here is a video demonstration
This has been the argument against MR-2 and AR maglock from the get go. Personally I'm comfortable with it but some people aren't.Interesting, but wouldn't rifle in video be considered an AW under NY Law the moment the upper is reattached to the lower with no "fixed" magazine in place, that is "semi automatic rifle with ability to accept a detachable magazine" (for sake of argument let's all agree there are one or more prohibited features on the rifle, such as a pistol grip)?

If you look at the video closely that is a MR-2 installed. Their product appears the be the rear pin lever.I thought that in the case of the MR-2 you could not physically insert mag into mag well with rifle fully assembled. Not familiar with other product.

Only removal is hindered. My bad, thanks. I don't know why but always thought the MR-2 didn't allow insertion of mag unless upper and lower were apart...
Agreed, but I'm still impressed with ingenuity this BS has spurred.Let's all agree, this state sucks all the fun out of everything. It's so frustrating having to try and figure all this crap out.
If only that also included getting the ones that make the garbage restrictions out of officeMany great inventions are just a way around. Amazing how great the mind works when it gets passed off.
NYS along with Washington and a few others need a good flushing FUCK them you aren't allowed to acquire objects that protect and supplies your families with food and sporting activities but politicians and criminals and selebertie's can run amokThe big difference here is that California defines a fixed magazine as one that can only be removed with the action disassembled. NY does not so they can always say that your rifle is capable of accepting a detachable magazine.
Yep. Correct. They were probably doing mag changes with rounds still in the magazine for the video. Anyway, once removed, the rifle can accept a detachable magazine. What the video didn't mention is in order for that set up to work, you would need to disable your bolt catch. You cannot swivel the upper with the bolt held back after your last round. So, you'd either have to slam it home again on an empty mag, then pop the upper so you can drop the mag, insert a new one, close upper, charge the next round or just remove your bolt catch so that you don't have to take the extra step of putting the bolt back into battery so you can pop the upper.

Back to Thordsen for me since the Tier 5 Solutions Bolt Catch got smacked down unofficially by the NYSP. I can't go fixed mag because my rifle is a working rifle and not a range toy.
To Restrict and Oppress more like.To protect and serve.
It will in New York. After they ban all semiautomatic firearms.Hopefully all this nonsense goes away with the new administration.
