Without seeing the vid, it doesn't sound that unreasonable.

If you lead the cops on a high speed chase and the cop crashes into another vehicle, and there is no indication he was a particularly bad driver or acted negligently, your actions quite directly led to that other crash and you'll be held responsible.

At 1st i was not sure i agreed with these laws.....but now i do.

If you commit a crime, and someone dies as a result of your crime (or during the commision of your crime) you should be charged.

Fine with this. Start a gunfight, and you're responsible for anyone that gets hurt. No different than screaming "fire" in a crowded theater.

I'd say in this case, the "If' is the heart of the matter.
If pointing a loaded gun in a home invasion is a crime, we've got a problem.
Not knowing the nitty gritty of this case and the actions of the constable, I find it impossible to know if the guy's defense about a supposed home invasion holds any merit.
These days, I trust jury findings in these types of incidents as much as I trust the government.
