I worked on a pig farm as a kid, from time to time my uncle's herd would get hit with something spread by pigeons from other feed lots. The reluctant solution was to dose them with antibiotics which my uncle was never crazy about. The antibiotics in turn were indirectly put into the food chain humans consumed which possibly impacts our immune systems. Mega farms are the worst. Pandemic in the pig pen or pandemic in the population center?

I've proudly earned my tin foil hat.

When it comes to carpet bombing with antibiotics, I don't worry as much about the antibiotics entering the human food chain as I do them breeding resistant bugs.

What little meat I eat is locally sourced. I can personally recommend Thorpes family farm in East Aurora. I get my eggs from the kind lady around the corner.
