According to the NY regs, " An angler may operate no more than 3 lines with or without a rod. "

My question is can I bring extra poles on the boat?

For example, bring 5 rods and reels, but only three are in use at one time.

This is on lake ontario if it makes a difference (which I don't think it does)

Yes you can. If you’re not using them you’re not operating them. Bring one bring twenty. Pay attention since salmon sometimes have different regulations. I’m not saying they have a different pole limit but I know they do in some states.

I once had a DEC cop try to ticket me. Some guy within spitting distance had put his rod down and walked away. The cop came by, asked about the rod, I said not mine and I don't know whose rod that is. I believe I had two rods going (law has changed?). He tells me, well you're the only one here and I'm writing you a ticket. So I walk over to the unattended rod, pick it up, and the thing is reeled right up with a bare hook. I show the cop, and he says oh, sorry, I'm an asshole. I said yes you are, and he left. Asshole.

Now that there is a cocksucker. Same thing happened to me while Riding my jet ski. I knew you needed a spotter but the spotter wasn’t turned around all the way. I was written a ticket and I went to court to fight it and explain my situation. Fucker of a cop lied and said no one was on the back. I wanted to tell him to fuck off.
