A person known to have "mental health challenges". I'd bet, if the actual story is ever allowed to come out, that he was known to authorities.

Authorities also found him at his home, dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound from a handgun, and a rifle on the kitchen table and assumed he was "planning for a chapter 2 of the story".
