Someone should put a sign next to it with the street worth and the coordinates on a billboard in the middle of the city of Poughkeepsie. Thing will be on cinderblocks by nightfall, guaranteed.

And how does this work exactly? I want to know how much crime this stops. Unless they are in every corner of the city good luck. So it detects the sound of gunshots and records movement. Ok so how does that translate to knowing who fired the shot? To me this is nothing more than a feel good measure and we have plenty of shot detection units installed already in plenty of areas and I keep hearing about crime rising so these must not work well.

License plate readers will look at your plate, they can tell if your registration/inspections/insurance are up to date, they will also be looking for any outstanding warrants. They will be able to tell a lot about you

It's either to read the license plates of most cars at the busy intersection there, or it could be to monitor the conservatives that protest across the street with Benghazi signs every so often and DTOM flags.

Yeah it's some 1984 bullshit.

The problem is police just want to make their jobs easier, at the cost of regular citizens. If it were up to LEO, we'd all be in cells already so it would be a constant instead of a variable in the equation, and make things even easier.

The problem is, we're free men, in a free country. This shit doesn't jive with freedom. Anyone who supports this sort of non-stop surveillance also doesn't support freedom either.

That's not to say private citizens can't take a picture of you in public, but when the government does this sort of monitoring it becomes a police state.

if the Police there really wanted to protect the public .. they could just ban all autos there ..

everyone then can just walks up and down the streets and be so safe ..

Walmart and all the stores there would be empty .
