Powder Dispensers

I have been looking at powder chargers. What would you recommend for one based on accuracy and price. Basically the best one for the money.

It's a function of accuracy and speed. Having both will be pricey. Having one or the other will be cheap. Rifle or pistol? Extruded or ball powder?

Pistol. Been using alliance powders. Just been thinking about a dispenser instead of the Lee auto drum.

Powder shape helps powder charger performance. I have a RCBS Uniflow generic powder dispenser. If I throw ball powder then it's great. Cylindrical powder fair to good. Flake powder like Green Dot or Blue Dot then I'm trickling a lot to keep the charges within spec. I can meter 231, 2400, 332, 335 and Varget all day with minimum cussing and fussing. Use flake and it will take longer.

That makes it simpler. Chargemaster or similar will work well, but like most such electronic gadgetry life expectancy is 5-10 years of continues use.

This plus a trickler and good mechanical scale can be very accurate. I actually use it when my $$$ set up is occupied by another powder.

give her a scalpel and she will cut flakes to make the weight ..

I use a Hornady.

It is pretty constantly accurate depending on the type of powder, like Deplorable mentioned. I set it just shy of the mark and trickle up til its line to line on my beam scale. I measure every single one.

It's honestly decently fast. I use the closest dipper that doesn't go over, then fill the biggest dipper and use it as a trickler. I can usually measure a charge within 1-2 seconds of my Hornady automatic dispenser and there's no warm-up or cleanup. On top of that, I find that my charges are more consistent than what my auto dispenser throws when I compare them on a scale that measures to the nearest 0.02 grains.
