I'm still reading the article, trying to find out what's different in NY.

Maybe our background checks are going to the State gestopho instead of the FBI...why would they refuse(FBI) if that's what the feds want...curious

Good question. Then again, look at PA, where they came up with their own version of NICS (PICS). Arizona could have done that if they were serious about making it happen once the FBI said no.

Ironic, isn't it, that Nevada has the same problem as New York:
"Question 1 failed in every Nevada county except Clark, which, with an overwhelming Democratic population base, pushed it to passage by nearly 10,000 votes."

We got the sludge-pool called "The City" and they have Clark County.

“This is what happens when you allow uninformed, out-of-state groups that prey on people’s emotions to write your laws,” Uithoven said in a statement.

Sounds like both sides were pushed by out-of-state interests. too bad only one interest abides by the Constitution of the United States.

I'm still reading the article, trying to find out what's different in NY.

The NY law requires people to go to a dealer. I believe Nevada wanted to make people conduct their own background checks through the NICS. The ammo background checks than NY wanted to use the NICS system for was rejected by the FBI, that is why they have to come up with their own system.
