Hey all,
Just wanted to mention what a great time I had at this Appleseed event. I encourage anyone interested or on the fence about doing one to absolutely go for it. Not only was it a great time, it was manned by great volunteers and great participants. Despite the forecast we managed to have decent, albeit cold weather.
One caution though, be prepared to have sore and achy muscles. It's more of a work out than I had imagined, lol.
The history lesson aspect of the event was also very informative and maybe it sounds weird but it gave me a sense of connection to those forefathers who fought to create this great country.
All the instructors were professional and very knowledgable. I want to give a special shout out to @nortatoga for keeping me informed about the event so I could get a spot and for being wealth of knowledge and just an over all awesome guy. Thank you!
This event taught me a lot about how to shoot and it also taught me a lot about what I didn't know about shooting.
I definitely would like to do another Appleseed in the future!
I am happy to say I did well. On the first day of the two day event, I was so so and was really thrown off by the timed aspect of the shoots. By the second day I think a lot had sunk in for me and I realized I had more time than I thought and I realized the importance of keeping your natural point of aim and moving your body to allow for that, instead of muscling everything. Breathing control also.
Here is my best score. I'm proud to say I got Rifleman.
