Recent address change. Purchase questions

In July I bought a house. I changed my address through the DMV's online service. But my drivers license still shows my previous address. Will there be an issue during my next nics check? Does the address for the nics check have to match the address on my drivers license?

I dont use my driver's license. I hand them my pistol permit and wait for the confusion to begin.

I went through the same thing.

A few FFLs would just use my pistol permit. One made me write my new address on the back of my drivers license.

When you fill out the NICS, put down the truth. Tell the FFL what's up and let them tell you what to do.

if you hit the DMV in person they will put a sticker on the back .. they did yrs ago on mine ..

There is usually a place on the back to write in your address change. I’d call the FFL beforehand to see what they say. I seem to remember one of them telling me they won’t accept written in addresses on the back. I think it was a big box store so might be store policy. A phone call will likely save you time and frustration though.

In my experience, the big box stores will not allow the transaction if your license does not match, even with a pistol permit that shows the correct address. No issue at the local gun shop.

There is a section on the back of the license for an address change that they should be able to accept. Fuck if I'm giving those bastards in Albany money for a new card.
