This really does,countless LACs are going to have their camo, flashlights, backpacks, compasses, ferro rods, butter knives, hiking boots, ear pro, guns, tactical looking vehichles, and anything else that the police department wants to give out to its cops stolen from them. Then it will cost them thousands of dollars, time, aggravation, lost work, etc... to get them back, and if they even do they are likely to be damaged, have missing parts, magazines, etc...

And apparently, someone merely having access to your home is grounds enough going to confiscate someone else's guns.
So it doesn't matter that the guns are locked in a safe and the person in question doesn't have a key.
I haven’t heard any politicians on either side bring up this little detail. I think most Americans would be against this. At least I would hope so. Since most of these red flag confiscations are a result of words not actually committing crimes, it violates the 1st amendment in addition to the 2nd, 4th and 5th. These laws are clearly unconstitutional and need to be challenged.

I don’t see how they can take firearm related items like scopes and things like that. They are not dangerous at all. So what you can take all my firearm related items? Screw that.
I would like to see what the scope of their search includes. If can see someone who has a teenage son that talks about hunting and some teacher gets nervous and contacts local PD. Then what, locals are going to go to the kids room or search the entire house. Is the judge issuing a search warrant without a criminal violation? My agency is constantly getting refresher training on 4th amendment violations in addition to everything else. I don’t see how this will ever hold up in court. So we throw out our legal system based on prescribe indicators. Seriously sounds like Minority Report. It will be interesting to see how these cases play out.

When someone is truely evil and a real risk or terror to the public, 1) firearms are not high on the list of concerns (history is ripe with arsonists, food / drug stealth poisonings, car bombers, suicide bombers, IED cowards, over-pass boulder drops, vehicle mow overs, etc ) and 2) if an evil someone is truly disturbed, those that know them best will likely remain silent in submissive self-survival fear.
These red flag laws are not going to prevent any true evil and are gleefully being used as an "useful idiot" to further drive a wedge between liberal / conservative citizens while also serving as a tool to meet other disgusting social or political motives.

I watched a video by Erie county DA John Flynn and he said it’s a civil trial so anyone can bring suit against the gun owner. So no criminal action or charges need to occur in order for a search warrant to come STEAL your guns.
