Remington 700 trigger replacement

Hey has anyone changed out the trigger pack on a 700?
I am looking a timney trigger.
I have used a 10/22 timney trigger and it was very nice.

perhaps you know a different of better brand?

I have done it on five of my Remington 700's. I have the Timney 510 on all of them. There is no better brand - period. It's easy to do but get yourself some brass punches before doing it. You can get a brass punch set for cheap on Amazon or at Harbor Freight.

You should be fine then. I use brass and a brass hammer for that kind of stuff. It's really easy. Remove the trigger guard, separate the upper from the furniture, put the upper on something really soft so you can work (a bath towel folded in half on your dinner table is fine), remove the bolt, remove the 2 pins, put in the 510, put it all back together. When you buy the Timney on their website, just tell them what pull you want. I personally do 3.5 foot/lbs of pull, but your mileage may vary. Some folks prefer as soft as 2.5 ft/lbs. I have 5 Remington 700s with the Timney 510. A pair of 700 P's, a 700 Classic in 338 Winmag, an LTR in 300 Winmag, and an XHR in 30-06. I did the two Police and the XHR at 3.5, and I did the Winmag hunting rifles at 4.5 because I figured my adrenaline would be higher.

Be super careful with your brass punches, work on a table where you can't lose a tiny part, and keep your old x mark pro. Just in case.. ..

I agree with Snappo. I also added a detachable mag kit and synthetic stock at the same time. Be wary of small spring that will disappear for bolt stop.

You know what I'm kicking myself about - on one of the 700'Ps I went with a detatch mag kit and forgot which company I bought from. So now I have no clue how to order an extra mag or two. I'm like 75% sure I went with Wyatt's Outdoors; but not 100% sure. A little voice in my head says Badger Ordnance. So I remain stuck with just the one mag unless I am willing to buy the thing all over again.
