Republican Senate Blocks President Trump From Recess Appointments

And remember, there’s some people who think the “UniParty” isn’t real. Meanwhile, republicans led the way in the Senate to initiate a rules process blocking President Trump from recess appointments during the upcoming Senate break. The pro-forma session process requires all Senators to agree to the rules maneuver; they did.

There are over 100 Trump nominations awaiting confirmation from the Senate. The Senators will not return until after Labor Day.

WASHINGTON DC – […] Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), doing wrap up for the entire Senate, locked in nine “pro-forma” sessions — brief meetings that normally last roughly a minute.

The move, which requires the agreement of every senator, means the Senate will be in session every three business days throughout the August recess.


The Senate left D.C. on Thursday evening with most lawmakers not expected to return to Washington until after Labor Day.

Senators were scheduled to be in town through next week, but staffers and senators predicted they would wrap up a few remaining agenda items and leave Washington early. (read more)

I duuno, as I was in line at the Grocery Store looking at the Celebrity crap on display, there was the mug of Hillary. I realized then that I am thankful for Trump and the she lost. My only problem with Trump so far is I voted for him to friggin FIRE each and every communist pinko progressive that Obama put in. He hasn't done it and look at the mess now. As for a Congress goes. First you need to disband unions for public employees 1) that cuts off funding for the Democrat Party, 2) it would allow Trump to fire those slugs; otherwise the other holdovers are tougher to "purge" no US president EVER has had BOTH parties cockblock his appointments like what Trump experienced.

As to the GOP, if they continue to sabotage President Trump-the last chance to fix America, then i will spend the rest of my days sabotaging the GOP, F**K the Republican Party if they destroy Trump.

We live in an oligarchy NOT a republic, Trump is trying to fix that.

This is the proof that establishment Republicans are utterly tone-deaf to the message from their electorate.

This is, unfortunately, also proof that nothing will change Washington....EVER!

Moves like this will ensure that Republican/Conservative/Libertarian voters simply sit out the next elections because they've been told that they just don't matter. As a result, the Democrat/Progressive/Liberal/Socialist party will win and do what they do best: Wield power as a massive blunt instrument to secure their agenda.

Let's face reality: A plurality in this country are ignorant and want "Socialism" (even though they don't know what it is). They will vote for whoever promises more "free stuff." The thinking people in the nation have no representation in the federal government since the Republican party is only interested in one thing...getting reelected. They don't want to do anything to upset the status quo. They are comfortable spouting pabulum about "fixing our country" while doing nothing. No...while maintaining a system against which they can rally and fund raise but which never, ever, gets "fixed." Last one out please turn off the lights.

For those reasons and more I stopped donating to the GOP years ago. I do support some individual GOP folks.
