I’m actually kind of pissed off about this and that my taxes might go up to cover this. There is now a hearing on punitive damages as well so I might be more. The budget is $2.2 billion so I can’t see why my taxes would rise because of this.

I heard he was spitting blood at the cops. They pulled him out and put a pillow case and spit shield on him. He was put on a gurney face first to clean him up because he crapped himself as well. There’s certainly more to the story because that wouldn’t kill someone. All I know is I’m sending an email to the county leaders telling them this is garbage and I’m not responsible so I’m not paying. If they raise my taxes that much I’ll buy more in Niagara county and they will lose more than the $300 in tax increase from me.

The Judge will reduce the civil Judgement, based upon the dead mans educational level , criminal record and likely hood of making more than a million dollars in his lifetime... and then apply a manner of compensation for pain and suffering...............

I expect the judgement to be between what a false conviction compensation might be with a smattering of pain and suffering added in.

Maybe 10 million tops, or as low as .05 cents.

Can't police hold for 24 hours without filing charges, if they have probable cause?

This fine young man got higher than a kite. Broke into a local store. Destroyed the inside of the store. Was hiding out in the freezer section to cool off from being so stoned. He attacked the police officers while they were arresting him.

Once in custody of the holding center, his actions were quite the same. Not saying he deserved to die, but, actions have consequences.

We entrust those who will seize a person's freedom, to be held for processing, to wield their powers justly. They are not there to measure retribution, to effectuate "consequence"... I know I make it sound easy, but sometimes, it needs to be simplified.

We citizens don't need any of this, we could just band together and drive around looking for miscreants and effectuate our own Justice too... But we don't! We surrender some of our Freedoms in order to allow our Gov't to institute and provide a society confirmative with our laws, all of society, even those that work within the system.

This is not a harsh rebuke of LE, not at all. Just an acknowledgement that sometimes they do go off the reservation and when they do, don't deserve consideration, any more than the POS spitting at them.
