The 5-round restriction [under the state's Environmental Conservation Law] only applies to center-fire, semi-automatic rifles, semi-automatic shotguns, and semi-automatic pistols having 8 inch or longer barrels.
with any firearm which continues to fire as long as the trigger is held back (an automatic firearm).
with a spear or spear gun.
with a bow equipped with any mechanical device which is attached to the bow (other than the bowstring) for drawing, holding or releasing the bowstring, except for a hunter with a disability who is in possession of a Modified Longbow Authorization (or valid Modified Archery Permit).
This is for Canada as well. In Canada if the magazine is meant for a rifle it is limited to 5 rounds. If it’s meant for a pistol it is limited to 10 rounds. There is no law in Canada currently that I am aware of that prohibits you from using a 10 round pistol mag in a rifle.
Just a FYI, the 1rd and 5rd 10/22 mags have a plastic tab inside that limits the round capacity. Take it apart and break that tab you now have a normal 10rd magazine. So if you can find these cheap somewhere because of the 1 or 5rd capacity, buy them.
