Ruger 10/22

Just put a new Ruger 10/22 with a Mannlicher walnut stock on layaway. I decided to get the blued model because I think the blued looks a little more classy than the stainless.

I got it at Buffalo Gun Center. They had it in stock and also have the stainless model in stock too

Full truth: I have never, ever, liked Mannlicher stocks.

I've seen them on full caliber rifles, 22s, my friends love them...I just don't get it.

I think that style of stock was invented by people with Sherpas
The only thing it does is add weight, and perhaps makes the gun more inaccurate if it's touching the barrel at Both ends

Nice, I picked up my first 10/22 in 1993, it is in no way as fancy as yours. I picked up the second one in 1998. My daughter claimed the first one in 2015 and away to Oregon it went. IMHO a 10/22 is something every household needs to have.

Sweet. The Mannlicher stock is very pretty. I have a 10/22 in the winter camo (package rifle for GP shooting) but have eyeballed the takedown and the one with the M1 carbine style stock. Couldn't make up my mind, so i got a Henry to calm my nerves. I honestly think the plastic stocked 10/22's are almost too light, but then again my days of lugging them around in the brush are in the rear view.

Love my 10/22's. These cases make winter range time more pleasant. Load 10 of em up at home. And they fit in the pouch on the take-down pack!

When I got my stainless 10/22 I didn't like the weight or balance of the plastic stock so I went back to the good old Wood.
The Birch with iron sights is almost perfectly balanced

There was a kit available once ( I think Sportsmen Guide carried it ) for a 10/22 to M-1 carbine look. A friend of mine from Appleseed got one of these Ruger made M-1's last year, lot's of Oohh's and Aahh's at last Sept. Appleseed shoot at the Club!
