Ruger ranch Rifle mini 30 in 7.62 x 39 18 inch barrel sling..stainless and synthetic. Excellent condition..2 five round mags and 2 ten round mags. 265 rounds of silver bear ammunition. Does the mini 30 feed as well as and AK on steel case ammo or does this prefer a different type of 7.62x39? Please excuse my ignorance on the matter. Have gotten into the AK platform and the mini 30 has raised and eyebrow with me.

I bought the silver bear because it has a zinc or brass coating over the steel case. Pure steel cases are "supposed" to be harder on a receiver than pure brass and the silver bear are "supposed" to be more friendly to the receiver. I couldn't see any difference on how any shell cycled and have not put many rounds through this one. Less than 100 as I bought 250 rounds in the beginning and still have 165 remaining. Has yet to jam with any brand shell.I was being cautious on buying silver bear but found out later from a few sources and on line, that a person would have to run a LOT of pure steel ammo that "may" cause an issue with the receiver. This "issue" is not just related to a mini 30. I was told any pure steel casing is not good for any semi auto. I guess it's like buying 89 octane at the pump instead of 87 . I like to take care of every gun I own.
