Scoped Rifle Steel Target Shoot

8 July 2017: Registration starts at 9:00am shooting starts at 9:30am after the safety briefing.

Cost: 20.00, club members receive a $5.00 discount by showing their 2017 membership card. Shooters may register a second rifle to compete in both classes for an additional $15.00.
Course of fire: 10 shots at 2MOA steel targets for each distance 100,200, 300, 400 yards. Sighting shots will be allowed at provided paper target mounted on target backer boards.
Targets: 2 inch steel gong at 100 yards, 4 inch steel gong at 200 yards, 6 inch steel gong at 300 yards and 8 inch steel gong at 400 yards.
Sporter /Hunter class: Any rifle under 10 pounds without a varmint profile or heavier barrel.
Open/ Varmint Class: Any rifle over 10 pounds or with a varmint profile or heavy barrel.
Shooting Position: bench, prone, kneeling or standing all (No artificial support allowed)
Course of fire: 10 shots at 2MOA steel targets for each distance 100,200, 300, 400 yards.
Scoring: hit/miss
Winner: Most hits
Tie breaker: Most hits at farthest distance. Ties will go to a shoot off.
Shoot off: Sudden death style at 3 inch target placed at 300 yards.
Prize: Trophy for 1st place in both classes, Certificates for 2nd and 3rd place.
Ammo Restrictions: No tracer bullets or bullets that attract a magnet (steel core or armor piercing) allowed.
Annual Membership Available: $30.00
Shooters will be paired up with a buddy to act as a spotter/scorer. All four distances will be shot at the same time. Each pair of shooters will be assigned a distance to shoot then be rotated through the next distances until course of fire is completed. Between each rotation the targets will be repainted and sighting targets will be pasted over.
The firing line will be declared hot for the start of each rotation and cleared/cold at the end of each rotation. All guns on the firing line will have the actions open during cleared/cold period. No one will move forward of the firing line before the firing line is declared cleared/cold.
