Not that I am a fan at all of the NRA, this is a bad slope to be skying down.
This will pass, it will be signed into law and more public (government) power to those in charge and less for the people.

As is clearly evident by the not-so-legal portion of our population, there are other means by which firearms and the tools needed for self defense can be obtained.
Bonus points because that method would also deprive NY of tax revenue.
