These people should all send certified letters to the Sheriff's office and the network that they will be held responsible for any crime/attacks as a result of releasing private information. I would also find the home addresses of the network execs and Sheriff's Dept and publish them online.
Always infuriating, no matter how many times it happens. Karma would have the person that requested this information in the first place become a victim of a violent crime.
This is a sticky issue. Are licenses granted by an issuing authority public information? Or, are they not? Can you obtain similar results requesting a list of people holding a contracting license, plumbing license, or electrical license? How about things that aren't trade-related. Marriage licenses? Where are the lines?
For the record, I am of the opinion that NO license information should be released in bulk at all, and requests to a licensing authority for an individual's information should depend on who is doing the requesting (and notify the license holder regardless). Think about it...professional or trade licenses are typically displayed prominently in a place of business. No need for requesting information from anyone. Go look at it. Licenses more of a personal nature such as marriage licenses can be produced on request by the person holding said license (who then bears the onus of determining the nature of the request). You can certainly view my CCW, if you request it of me in person, for a legitimate purpose, and I determine that you have cause or authority to ask such a thing.
Stuff like this bulk release of license information via a FOIA request is nothing more than a bullying tactic stemming from the SJW camp, both to the licensing authority, who probably does not want the bother or the threat of legal action, and to the license holder (See see, Joe Schlemiel from Schmucktown holds a CARRY PERMIT! Oh the huge manatees!!).
Something similar happened in Westchester a few years ago...I think it was The Journal News who published an article releasing all the locations of gun owners throughout Westchester, so they released the reporter's home addresses and things got messy.
