The shooter killed one guy and wounded 5 more.
Then the cops showed up and finished off the 5 wounded.
It's not like they teach actual writing at journalism school anymore. It doesn't matter how confusing your sentence structure is, or how badly you mangle the grammar, as long as they can tell the conservative guy is the one at fault your story gets a passing grade.
