Sodium is super low density compared to normal bullet material, and it's super soft (like cut with a knife not a saw soft). These things are probably screaming out of the barrel, but I doubt they'd have much penetration.
Still, injecting a super caustic chemical into the wound would be pretty nasty. I'm not sure if the immediate stopping power would be all that great though.
