First of all, no need of a Pardon, I suppose, unless Julian ends up in US Custody.

The complexity of what he did is actually beyond me, but my gut feel is he did the entire world an enormous service in releasing what he did.

He made common knowledge what Intelligence Agencies worldwide already knew.

If I am right about this, and the opportunity arose, I'd like to see a Pardon right after the Mid-Terms.

What say you ?

I have had the same question myself.

But there was a commentator (a long-time respected one) on either Tucker or Hannity that made it very clear a Presidential Pardon can include any and all Federal Crimes, whether they are even known !

The "perp" does not even have to be in the USA at all (Marc Rich).

So the president can give someone a 'get out of jail free' card? A do as you wish with no repercussions on future digressions pardon? Call me crazy but I am skeptical of that.

The President cannot pardon Future crimes.

Only any or all past ones, known or unknown.

I know, I know.

Perhaps not pardon, but decline to prosecute? I believe he could pressure sessions into dropping charges against him.

As for whether or not he should, I believe absolutely yes he should be free of fear. The absolute problem with our government is it has grown beyond the scope of the founders vision. The so-called deep state isn’t some grand conspiracy, it is simply a collection of agencies with limited oversight and accountability. They do not answer to the people, and we are powerless, we can only take them at their word that they have our best interest at heart. I personally don’t believe them.

Assange has played a pretty instrumental role in exposing these organizations, exposing government corruption. I think a fair deal of the founder, especially any anti-federalists, would applaud his efforts. The government should answer to the people at some point.

He has the power to order Rosenstein to release documents under penalty of being fired. Firing Rosenstein would squander a whole lot of "political capital", in the words of Dubbya.
