Sig p226 pro-cut slide , thoughts ?

I’ve been hesitant to get my legion slide milled for a RDS so this has peaked my interest.
According to the specs it is compatible with a RMR ( which is my preferred dot ) only requires a sealing plate .
Anyone with this slide ?
Is this truly compatible with a rmr footprint without some sort of adapter plate ?

A separate optics specific slide makes sense to me.
But then I start to think that for a bit more money you could just have a whole sperate pistol.
It's the same thing with AR uppers or caliber conversion kits for pistols, by the time I add up the costs I just start looking at getting a separate gun.

I like where your heads at , however a separate RDS ready P226 isn’t in the cards at the moment.

You can buy a factory P226 slide with red dot .... i have one.

But if you bring up the Romeo 1 you invariably invite endless comments on its poor quality. Despite the fact its not, it just won't survive a direct hit to the ground dropped from shoulder height.
That said I believe there is also a legion specific red dot model. No idea if onecan get a red dot equipped legion slide by itself though.

It's not a fault specific to the Romeo. The Trijicon SRO, the Deltapoint Pro also are susceptible to such damage. It seems that this is a drawback with rounded top windows in general. Oh well, lots of people are able to get acceptable service from the DPP regardless at least and my experience with the Romeo 1 Pro has been satisfactory so far, that whole gun was purchased as a range toy anyway so..........
The whole red dot on a pistol thing isn't doing much for me so far TBH. I don't think I have the requisite pistol craft for me to take advantage.

It's still a down play.. no one here suggested a SRO..

Something can be ok or even good but have things objectively better

I put a Romeo 1 pro on one of my P320 legions and a Romeo 3 MAX on another. Great sights and no I don't plan on dropping them or the gun. If I do I will just have to replace what gets broken.

Optically I think the Romeo 1 Pro is great, clear sharp window with minimal tint, very crisp dot. The sight picture is great. I did accidentally nudge my p320 off the shooting table with an ammo can. It landed on its side onto the concrete pad. Everything seems to be fine. I also dropped it on the floor in my home and banged the sight itself into a door frame.
I can hold an equally tight group with the Shield and it's factory irons regardless though so.......

I’m unsure of how the footprint is milled for the optics. Maybe they have it killed for multiple ones or it’s one of the kids that requires different mounting plates. But it’s a little confusing where it says it will accept a Romeo01Pro, RMR, and a DPP. Those optics don’t all share the same footprint. But when you scroll a little lower is then says “Compatible with ROMEO1PRO red dot sight.” I would bet that it’s milled for that and then there is an adapter plate for the RMR footprint. But I could be wrong. I would reach out to them and ask if you want a definitive answer. But if you’re ever able to, I suggest to have a slide milled specifically for an optic instead of adapter plates. Though the Agency Arms AOS system is nice. I don’t think they offer it on a Sig P229 though.
