We older disabled folks need a fukking break! It`s time for the younger folks to pick up the tab!

I don`t have any kids. So why should i pay for somebody else`s kids (worthless) education and free handouts.

I`m right there with you. Lived in NY all my life, never once did i EVER vote for a democrap. They always set the goal post`s at unreachable distances so that you can`t ever get a break. You can`t even vote these bastards out, either! This fukkin state is sunk, there is no saving it. Time to jump ship.

I looked at several other states who end property tax for 65+yrs old folks. But there aren`t any places that i can move to that i like, better. But i do know, that i can no longer afford the taxes on my home where i live right now. We are being forced out due to the high costs to own your own home in NYS.

Then add in, the gas stoves being banned. They want to cut off propane gas. They want you to upgrade to 400amp services in your home to run on 100% electric. I can`t afford to do that on my SS disability income. They came around recently and installed new digital electric meters. They can shut your electric off without ever coming to your house to turn it off like they use to, now. Late on any payment to any gov run system, POOF, electric gets shut off.

Digital currency is well on its way, everybody goes on a plastic card payment system. Don`t pay your taxes on time, off goes your electric! Then when you do pay your taxes, you`ll be charged a big surcharge to turn it back on, on top of penalties for late payment.

I`m sure there are many other things i haven`t even touched on here, but one thing is for sure, this country is going down.

Well, get rid of or cut property taxes for us old farts, that means others get increases, and I don't like that. Plus there would be increases in state/local sales taxes along with increases in other necessary expenses, maybe like vehicle registration fees to make up for it. Plus other increases. There is no win win here in NYS.

Veterans in the Starpoint school district finally got a veterans tax reduction on their school taxes about 4 years ago. The past 3 years it has decreased every year and No one I contacted has an answer why. I talked to a School board member last November at a veterans meeting and He said he'd look into it and get back to me. I gave him copies of My last 3 year school tax bills. he has yet to get back to me. The County assessor has no answer, town assessor no answer, town supervisor has yet to get back to me after 8 months, a town board member said they would check at State level, that was a year ago and no reply. I brought this to the attention of the Veterans at the Vets meeting and there was no interest as far as I could see. So I guess We get what We get when We get it.

Workin on it. Easier said than done though. Me living on SS disability doesn`t help. I`m hoping for the big economic housing crash. Then it should be a buyer`s market, maybe. It`s just a matter of time, not if, but when. Bank foreclosure's, a buyer should be able to capitalize on that. I`ve got some cash saved up. But i`m not willing to pay double the price for a home the way things are right now. We`ll wait it out a little bit longer.
