My mother in law sent me this picture the other day. Unfortunately, it's a little too far south. All the way in TN. Nice sow. She had a couple cubs with her. Apparently a larger boar came around the next day.

Nice. Saw one running along NY Thruway between exits 15-16 last Sunday while driving home.
About 125lbs or so. Reared up on its hind legs to look back from where it came from. Must've stood close to 6ft.

I haven't seen one yet, but one crapped in the middle of my driveway, of all places! I heard one in the middle of the night while coyote hunting, but that was a few years ago. They seem to come and go every few years.

I have yet to see one here. I've seen plenty of sign over the years, and my aunt got pictures of one in her yard 4 miles away from me again this year, but I still haven't layed my eyes one one :-/

My son and I were buying ammo tonight at the Walmart in Napanoch and so a fella walked up and asked if I hunted to which I said yes and why the ask?
He said I looked like a hunter and he wanted my opinion on what he should do with a bear cub that has been coming around every night for 2 weeks. He said on a few nights he walked up to within 5 ft from the cub as it was eating and drinking from his dogs dog bowls. He added that he and a neighbor went in the woods looking for the cubs mother.
Than the stupid question; how can he keep the cub from coming back. I told him the cubs mother is probably dead otherwise he wouldn't be standing there telling me what an idiot he really is.

Yep, sounds like an orphan. It wont last the winter. Very sad

I told him to call the DEC and leave the cub alone.
