The media wants this. They want to freak people out, shock them, make them feel hopeless, anger them etc... It's good for their ratings. They have ruined the minds of mentally weak and simpletons.

Who knows with someone who is predisposed to mental illness what triggers them or sets them off. Media absolutely bears a share of responsibility in these events. I'm certain to some degree they have planted the seeds of extremist fear, paranoia, discontent, etc that pushed someone over the edge.
