Target Cornfusion?

Looking for some input on this as it's not the first time I experienced this. Shot my league last night and did pretty good in the first round. As expected, I didnt do as well in round 2. Round 3 I noticed this oddity, which happened last league night a couple weeks ago.

We get 5 minutes for unlimited sighters / warmups. My barrel was barely warm from round 2, settled in and dropped 5 in the center ring. (The other 5 outside the ring were from the end of the round). Figure I'm going to walk away with this one. All I gotta do is do what i just did and I got this.

Maybe a couple minute gap, so the officer sets the clock, I load up, settle in, and bang. Outside the ring. Bang, bang, bang. More of the same.

So I shoot my targets clockwise after the sighter, so you can see the progression. What I cant seem to understand is how do I drop 5 in the center and then a couple minutes later I seem to be shooting a totally different gun? Again, the 5 outside the rind were from when I came around the horn. I guess I could understand barrel warming and groups opening but the accuracy changed almost instantly. Whadya think?

Im thinking your barrel was warming up/getting hotter during the wait time. You should find a good barrel cooler gizmo, one that gets good reviews.

This is me just talking out of my ass and guessing what could of possibly happened.

Looks like about 1/2 of your shots are low left with the others no discernable pattern. Are you a righty? If so work on grip you could be squeezing palm along with trigger pull.

That’s my problem with Anything other than a 1911 because the light trigger I’m assuming.

So I researched barrel coolers and wellll,,,,they dont really work according to a guy that did some tests

Come on now? Are we really at the point where we're really going to believe science over marketing?

I've been focusing on consistant approach. Sighting target, head position, shoulder plant, grip, finger position, squeeze, etc. I dont think that changed especially when I planted 5 perfect shots. Theres not really enough time to run a barrel cooler as it's a timed event. I doubt barrel temp jumped that much from the sighter target to the first one. Wind was also not a factor.
