Tell me why this isn't legal assuming you take off the forward grip, remove the stock and add a stabalizing brace.

The Glock came manufactured from the factory at under 50 oz's. This is no different than adding a scope to a handgun.

Did they replace the barrel with a 16 inch one? I could not tell. If they didn't they made a SBR out of a pistol. If they did then in NY it might be considered an AW if the weight exceeds 50 ounces.

No. They did not replace the barrel. The stock would be replaced with an Arm Brace to remain a pistol.

That's not a shroud. This is below. Regardless, it doesn't attach to or encircle the barrel to prevent you from burning your hand. The slide encircles the barrel and does that.

Still looks like you would be making an AW by the NY definition of AW. Which is why people fix the mags on the ARs to avoid the classification.

Yes they did convert to an SBR. You aren't. You will use a pistol stabilizing brace like these pistols.

That's not a shroud. This is below. Regardless, it doesn't attach to or encircle the barrel to prevent you from burning your hand. The slide encircles the barrel and does that.

It encircles the slide and not the barrel. The barrel is already internally in the slide when you got it. It also doesn't prevent the shooter from burning his hand. You couldn't burn your hand before.

Your reaching.... It does encircle the barell. It's just a second layer. And since when can you hold a slide and shoot a pistol? The barell is exposed when you shoot.

Because it's a chassis and not a shroud. First it has to partially or completely encircle the barrel. The is disagreement on that. Then it has to prevent you from burning your hand. It's not doing that. You couldn't have burned your hand anyways.

Google barrel shrouds. This is not one. It's a chassis.

I was actually going to do something like this except customize one nearly a few years ago now. Adding the front section is illegal no matter how you'd like to phrase it. Those hera arms pdw stocks and many others have a shroud or similar muzzle device that does partially encompass/circle around the barrel. That additional section for the charging option is designed very specifically for a second handgrip too. Having said that, you're still left with the ability to add a brace, and since it's an accessory, the weight limit doesn't matter because it's not manufactured in that configuration.

Come on Uzi. A rail is designed to add a grip but you don't have to add one.

Incorrect. It has to be what it is. If you mount a flashlight to a forward rail of your rifle, the flashlight doesn't become a handgrip.

I'm surprised you didn't know that. The addition of a picatinny hand rail section for the PDW stocks aren't just for the addition of better forward grips for the SBR, it by itself is already a secondary grip system which is designed primarily for the use of TWO hands, meaning the addition of that piece is already adding a secondary grip. It doesn't mean just a vertical forward grip or angled forward grip. In the picture you see an SBR, or short barreled RIFLE. Many people that have RIFLES don't use additional grips on the picatinny hand rails they have, because it's already a second grip hold. Anyways, these stock kits all have little flash hiders or muzzle devices/barrel shrouds that DO partially encompass and or cover the barrel.

I thought about getting one of these but realized I would be better off just getting something already built as a "pistol" and put a blade on it. This is only good if you want to go back and forth between a pistol and a bigger "pistol".

No it's not. It's designed to mount anything you want on it like a flashlight, sling mount, laser, ECT.
