While I think this is probably the right call, I don't think the government should even make a call like this. It's once again none of their business. Whoever privately runs the competition can make their own rules, and I'd hope they'd be dividing based on physical gender at birth.

I just don't want to keep handing responsibilities to a government that constantly abuses us. Why can't we figure stuff out ourselves that we need them to mandate shit?

I don't really like Abbot. To me this looks like the same kind of pandering democrats do to placate their far left chattle, only with conservatives.
