As I detailed in a different thread, I recently decided to pick up a Florida CWL permit to cover me in a state I was traveling to, and that my PA permit did not cover. I applied about 1 month before my travel, and was pleasantly surprised that they offered free expediting for active duty military and veterans if you check a box on the application.
I checked it, and got my permit back in 3 weeks. Coincidentally, I ran into a guy at a recent local meeting who it turned out had applied for his even more recently, and he said he got his back in 7 days! Wow!
Anyway, I get my mail the other day, and there is an envelope from the Florida Dept. of Agriculture and Consumer Services Division of Licensing, - the offices that issued my permit.
And my first thought is, - "Oh Shit, what went wrong...", especially when I see through the envelope window the words: "The attached Warrant...".
But noooooooo..., it's a check for $10.00 refunded to me from the application fee I paid! The stub actually had printed on it the words "The attached Warrant (Check) represents a reduction in Concealed Weapons License fees".
That's nice! Thank you, Florida. I'll take it.
