The EU is now finding more ways to take away your freedoms. They want to take away ownership of your old car and scrap it! Yes, you read that correctly.


The EU has something called End-of-life vehicles directive, and they are looking to expand this to become so draconian that it reminds of something that would have happened in the Communist Soviet Union.
A new set of criteria will be established that will decide whether you will be allowed to keep your car. If your car does not meet the criteria, the EU will seize your car and scrap it.There is an exception however for cars that are more than 30 years old. But they have to be original. Meaning that if you put a different engine in it than original and your car hasn’t been through an EU control check within the last two years, then they will scrap it!
Meaning that many older cars will be considered “waste” by the EU and they will SEIZE your car and scrap it for you – All under the excuse of recycling and meeting climate goals.

Actually CA already is on 2007 and prior diesel trucks. You can't register them... just not the seizing part -- yet.

In a declared State of Emergency, the "authorities" CAN sieze your vehicles/equipment/property for emergency use, afterwards I'm not real sure what happens... I can shut that old Truck off where it's useless to anyone that's not savvy enough to diagnose why it won't start/run.

I fart a bit, run the chainsaw a bit, and weedeater............oil heats best.

I regularly start up my cars in storage... to circulate the oils and charge the batterys.

Unless you're making sure they come up to full operating temp you're doing more damage than you think you're preventing. You'd be better off fogging the cylinders and keeping the battery on a tender.
Starting and running a stored vehicle only builds up condensation in the crankcase and rusts everything out.
